How'd you get yourself in this mess? You
sent out an audition & profile, you passed the
audition, and now you have to watch those slow-
pokes play for ages before you get to see any
action?
At least this will give you plenty of
opportunity to subscribe to the
DownBeatPBEM email list on
Onelist.com, so you can read the archives
and see how players have handled the mind-
wrenchingly painful scenarios given to them
by their cruel Dungeon Jockey,
Red Hausman, killing characters on a whim
and giving their goldfish wedgies.
Or whatever.
So you'll have PLENTY OF TIME to subscribe,
and NO DAMN EXCUSE not to be well-read on
the kind of world you're going to enter
when your number comes up.
Maybe I should remind you right here that
when a spot comes available for a new
player, I don't intend to hunt you down
for a month to remind you that you're on the
waitlist, only to be told you're no longer
interested. I'll send a couple emails to
the first person on the list, then you'll
have one week to respond. After that,
I'll contact the next person on the waitlist.
If you can't read your emails more than
once a week, you probably wouldn't be
following the game as often as necessary
anyway.
This is my first time running a PBEM,
so I have no idea what the average wait
will be on the waitlist. If you get sick
of waiting, you could always pester current
players until they drop out. See applicable
cyberstalking laws for further details.
Did I mention I got some short stories over on
some other pages? I apologize ahead of time.
The garbled mess of stories and essays you
are about to jump to is called AWKWARDLY.
